Superintendent Dr. Raph Napolitano announced his retirement back in March after 11 years of leading the district, effective at the end of the school year.

The search firm has begun to solicit candidates and review credentials, according to the district. There is no leading candidate and no interviews have been held, the district said.

Focus group meetings will be held on April 20 so a profile can be developed for the next superintendent. The district has also set up a website to keep residents updated.

David Fine's resignation as Peekskill superintendent has caused some to speculate that he will take over as Yorktown superintendent. A district spokesperson was unaware if he had submitted an application since the process is being handled by the search firm.
