Student Senate Hosts a Night for the Seniors

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Some high school students spent their Friday night back inside the school – this time as hosts of an event to entertain Yorktown senior citizens, which, on Monday night, Superintendent Ralph Napolitano said he enjoyed attending.

Members of Yorktown High School's Student Senate held a dinner and theater night for Yorktown senior citizens, complete with a meal, a movie and music.

"I had the pleasure of attending, it was phenomenal. Our kids really did a great job," Napolitano said after commending the students Monday night at the Yorktown Board of Education meeting.

Napolitano said 125 seniors came, who were treated to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" which he said was a treat for those who had seen it, and even more so for those who had not.

"It was a wonderful movie, and there was wonderful music. I think they had a delightful evening, we certainly enjoyed ourselves," Napolitano said. "The kids were superb – the kids who were helping were great and there were a few teachers who were there.” He added, “They all did a great job and make it very entertaining and very enjoyable.”

School administrators, as well as town board member Vishnu Patel attended the student senate event.
