This week, the Murphy campaign has accused the Wagner camp of having a campaign office in Brewster that violated campaign law, missing campaign finance reports and losing a third line due to invalid signatures.

On Tuesday, Murphy's campaign complained to the Putnam County Board of Elections that Wagner's office in Brewster was less than 100 feet from a polling place.

"The law is clear,"  McCormack said.  "Anything less than 100 feet which had not been established at least six months prior to an election is illegal.  We look forward to the board's ruling and encourage the proper authorities to investigate these improprieties."

On Wednesday, Wagner's campaign failed to properly submit the necessary campaign finance reports to the Board of Elections.

On Thursday, Wagner's Women's Equality Party line was thrown off the ballot after the New York State Supreme Court ruled the petitions for the party were invalid.

"Voters across the district deserve answers to these serious allegations," TJ McCormack, a spokesman for Murphy, said. "Residents of the Hudson Valley need a candidate they can trust and Justin Wagner proved to them all this week that he is not that individual."

Steve Napier, campaign manager for Wagner, said the team will abide by all rules and consult with the Putnam County Board of Elections.

"While Justin Wagner has put forward serious proposals on tax relief, ethics and campaign finance reform and led the charge on stopping the Algonguin Pipeline, Terrence Murphy apparently has been worried about whether an office is 90 or 105 feet from a polling location," Napier said.

Napier said regardless of party lines, Wagner is the only candidate that supports women's equality.

"Terrence Murphy's extremist views and opposition to equality are out of step with the Hudson Valley's values," Napier said.

The 40th Senate District covers Pleasantville, Mount Pleasant, Chappaqua, Cortlandt, Yorktown, Peekskill, Somers, Mount Kisco, Lewisboro, Pound Ridge, North Salem, parts of Putnam and parts of Dutchess County.
