At the June 20th. Yorktown Town Board Meeting, a visibly angry Supervisor Grace yelled and scolded the audience for several minutes. Mr. Grace stated that he was angry that so many residents had showed up in opposition to changes to the Tree Law at the "11th hour". The straw that broke Supervisor Grace's proverbial back was a question asked during the courtesy of the floor section; If everyone here is opposed to your proposed changes to the Tree Law who is the Town Board listening to and whose benefiting? Seems a simple enough question but it must have hit a nerve and sent Supervisor Grace into a near meltdown. Supervisor Grace when on about how hard he works, the long hours he puts in and that people don't appreciate all of his efforts. A few people in the audience openly laughed at Supervisor Grace's vain remarks which only fanned the flames. Doesn't Mr. Grace realize that self-praise is worthless and only invites ridicule. Supervisor Grace berating of the public caused more damage to himself, his Town Board and his legacy than any political rival ever could. If Mr. Grace can't handle the heat (people disagreeing with him and asking 'accusatory' questions) he should just leave the kitchen (Town Hall).

Supervisor Grace acts like a king and Town Hall is his castle. He rather rule by decree than by democratic process. Has Supervisor Grace lost touch with his constituents and forgot he's a public servant? Seems like the Crown of Supervisor weighs heavy on Mr. Grace's head. Supervisor Grace juggles a lot; Law Practice, land development deals and being a Town Supervisor. Supervisor Grace needs to lighten his load and taxpayers should consider helping him. Yorktowners need to send a message on Election Day and vote for someone who respects and listens to them. In the short term, does Yorktown Town Hall need to build a 'safe space' for politicians with hurt feelings?
