WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Yesterday, Gov. Cuomo and Speaker Heastie revealed their agreement about including some ethics reforms in the budget. It was nice to see the governor and speaker finally agree on stripping pensions from corrupt lawmakers. This has long been an issue of mine and of the Assembly Minority Conference.

We also have to look at term limits for legislative leaders and committee chairs, and preventing campaign funds from being used on attorneys and legal fees stemming from investigations. Today's deal is a step in the right direction, but we are not yet at our destination.
