School officials received information that the unidentified teen, a student at the school, made statements to other students that he "hated the school and was going to shoot up the school," according to the Yorktown Police.
Another student told officials that the student told her he would let her know when it was going to happen and sent her pictures of guns and knives, police said.
The student was arrested at his Yorktown home and charged with juvenile delinquency. He was later released to a parent. He is due to appear in court on Oct. 13.
