An officer on patrol observed a green Toyota allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed on Strawberry Road on Saturday at 3:17 p.m., officials report.

The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Russell R. Hernandez, 19, according to police.

A computer check at the scene revealed that Hernandez’s New York state driver’s license was suspended, police report.

Hernandez was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters; he was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as speed in zone, a traffic violation, police report.

Following processing, Hernandez was issued a traffic summons in reference to the charges, then released on $100 bail, according to officials.

He is scheduled to answer the charges against him in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, Feb. 16, police report.
