The arrest stems from a call to police from Ginny’s Wine and Liquors on June 7, 2015, according to officials.
An officer was dispatched to the scene; an investigation revealed that an unidentified male had allegedly used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase merchandise before fleeing the scene, police report.
After further investigation, the suspect was identified as Alfonzo R. Forney, a Bronx resident in his mid-30s, officials report.
The suspect could not be located, and a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to police.
Forney was arrested Tuesday at Riker’s Island Correctional Facility, where he had been held on an unrelated charge, police report.
He was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class C felony, according to police.
Following processing at police headquarters, Forney was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail, officials report.
He is scheduled to answer the charge against him in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, police report.
