At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, police officers in Yorktown were dispatched to an apartment complex Underhill Avenue, where a complainant reported that there had been a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police said that an investigation determined that Yorktown resident Joseph Curtis allegedly menaced his victim with a speak-like weapon, placing said victim in fear of injury. When police attempted to arrest him, Curtis allegedly resisted officers.

Curtis was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned and a Temporary Order of Protection was issued in favor of his victim. Curtis was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, April 13.
