Matthew J. O’Connell, 22, of the hamlet of Shenorock, was arrested in Baldwin Place around 3:30 a.m., police said.
Police said an officer had spotted O’Connell speeding east on Route 6 and tried to stop him.
However, police said, O’Connell continued on into Somers where he was finally pulled over in a parking lot at Somers Commons, a shopping center in Baldwin Place.
O’Connell was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony; driving with 0.08 or more blood alcohol content, a felony; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device installed, a misdemeanor; and speeding, failure to maintain lane, failure to comply, and disregarding traffic controls, all traffic violations, police said.
O’Connell submitted to a breath test at the Yorktown police station and was released on $1,000 bail, police said.
He is to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, April 28.
