Somers Man Accused Of Fleeing Accident Scene In Yorktown Facing New Charge

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 57-year-old resident of Somers on a warrant issued out of Yorktown Justice Court, authorities said.

The warrant was issued after James G. McNeill, the defendant in a prior case, allegedly failed to appear for his arraignment June 21, according to officials.

In the prior incident, McNeill had been charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, police report.

The warrant alleging his failure to appear in court was issued July 19, according to officials.

McNeill voluntarily appeared at Yorktown Police Headquarters and was arrested Monday, police report.

Following processing, he was arraigned and released on $300 bail, according to officials.

The defendant is scheduled to answer the warrant in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, police report.
