Thomas Peter Anderson, 28, was arrested after police responded to a report of a one-car accident around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 on Mohegan Avenue, police said.
When officers arrived on scene they found Anderson in the vehicle, which had rolled, hit a fire hydrant and a utility pole. During an investigation, officers determined that Anderson was drunk. A blood alcohol test showed he was driving at more than twice the legal limit at 0.18 percent, police said.
Officers also found an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, police said.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, speeding, and open container of alcohol. He was processed at the Yorktown Police Department and released on $200 cash bail to a family member.
Anderson is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Nov. 17.
