Motorcyclist Severs Leg In Route 9 Accident

GARRISON, N.Y. -- An accident involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer on Route 9 late Tuesday afternoon severed a motorcyclists' leg, according to Philipstown.info.

The motorcylist was taken by ambulance to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company Station before being taken to a nearby hospital, according to Philipstown.info. Continental Village Fire Department and Putnam Fire Police also responded to the accident.

Route 9 was closed for several hours while the Putnam County Sherriff's Department investigated the crash that occurred just before 6 p.m.
