Paul Shkreli, 44, of Yonkers was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, Class D felonies.
Police received an anonymous call about a possible burglary at 3:44 a.m. and found the front door to Yorktown Barber Shop, adjacent to Yorktown Jewelers to be unsecured.
Shkreli was seen inside the barbershop and was taken into custody without incident, police said. Police said he was hoping to enter the jewelry store to steal merchandise.
Shkreli was remanded without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 17.
