Man Grabs Throat Of Girlfriend During Assault In Yorktown, Police Say

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A man was arrested in Yorktown following a domestic incident in which Yorktown Police say he forcibly grabbed the throat of his victim when he assaulted her Monday night.

David Collins, a 48-year-old Pennsylvania resident was charged with assault in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a Class A misdemeanor.

Collins also caused an injury to her hand, police said. He was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. He is currently being held pending arraignment.

The location in which the incident occurred was not released by police.
