Man Charged With Stealing Power Tools At Sears In Yorktown Two Times

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police have arrested James J. Damico after the Yonkers resident allegedly stole vacuum cleaners from a Sears department store.

Yorktown Heights Police arrested James J. Damico, 41, on July 14 after the Yonkers, N.Y., resident allegedly stole $3,400 in vacuum cleaners from the Sears in the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Surveillance footage captured Damico, 41, on the afternoon of July 1 stealing six Dyson vacuums worth approximately $3,400 from the Sears located at 650 Lee Boulevard in the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Store employees contacted Yorktown Heights Police on July 14 when Damico returned to the store.

Yorktown Heights Police charged Damico of Yonkers with grand larceny in the third degree from separate incidents on July 1 and July 14. The Class D felony carries with it a sentence between two and seven years.

Damico is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Court on July 21 after Judge Salvatore Lagonia remanded him to the Westchester County Jail on $40,000 cash bail.
