YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace's son faces felony charges after he allegedly stole a car and was found driving it while his ability was impaired by drugs, and in possession of drugs, police said.
Henry Grace, 19, was arrested by New York State Police in Cortlandt Tuesday evening. Supervisor Grace confirms it was his son, Henry who was arrested.
"This is a very personal matter," he said Wednesday.
Henry Grace was arrested and faces charges of grand larceny in the third degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was charged with DWAI and criminal possession of a controlled substance by the Environmental Conservation Police and charged with Grand Larceny by State Police.
He was issued appearance tickets for the charges by the Environmental Conservation Police returnable to the Town of Phillipstown Court on March 14 at 7 p.m.
In custody of the state police, Grace was arraigned in the Village of Croton Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police report that he allegedly stole the 2005 Pontiac G6 from the Kohl's Department Store parking lot in Cortlandt. He was then spotted by Environmental Conservation Police on Route 301 in Phillipstown.
