The troop earned the award by running a community service event called Girl Scout Hobby Night at Solaris Sports Club on Friday, Nov. 7.

The event was attended by 131 Girl Scouts from Lakeland and Yorktown.

There were workstations where the attendees could learn about and try out different hobbies. The list included sewing, softball. skin care, cheerleading, soccer, taekwondo and baking.

Each attendee brought a service donation to benefit the Peekskill Head Start program, and the troop brought the supplies to the Head Start program on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
