Traffic Alert: Turkey Trot Road Race Will Lead To Road Closures In Yorktown

Yorktown Police are reminding residents of the annual Turkey Trot Road Race, and along with the fun run/walk, road closures.

Sponsored by Sen. Terrence Murphy's Office, this year's event will begin on Front Street in front of the Pennysaver building at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 22.

The runner's route includes:

  • Front Street to Underhill Avenue, turn left to westbound Underhill Avenue.
  • Underhill Avenue to Route 118, turning left to southbound Route 118.
  • Route 118 to Old Country Way, making a U-Turn on Route 118 then proceeding northbound.
  • Route 118 North to Underhill Avenue.
  • Underhill Avenue to Front Street.
  • Front Street to Finish Line at the end of the street.

To provide for the safety of the runner and spectators, the following roadways will be closed from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.:

  • Front Street
  • Moseman Avenue between Summit Street and Front Street
  • Underhill Avenue between Summit Street and Route 118
  • Route 118 between Underhill Avenue and Route 129
