Police: Yorktown Man Tried to Shoot Dog Running on His Property

YORKTOWN, N.Y.— A Yorktown resident was charged with reckless endangerment after he allegedly fired a gun at a dog running loose on his property.

Police arrested the man, 69-year-old Raymond S. Sowa, for the felony after they responded to numerous reports of someone firing a gun at a Pitbull running loose on Oak Street. A Police investigation revealed Sowa, of 1752 Amazon Rd., had allegedly discharged numerous rounds from a shotgun at a pitbull running on his property, which is in close proximity to other occupied homes. Police also report he allegedly pointed the loaded shotgun at numerous bystanders.

The gun was located at the scene and Sowa was placed under arrest. He was released on $2,500 bail.
