Numerous Accidents Reported On Icy Area Roadways During Morning Commute

Icy conditions, including areas with black ice, resulted in several accidents during the Friday morning commute, particular in parts of Northern Westchester and Putnam.

A rollover accident blocked a section of Route 129 in Yorktown Heights.The accident, reported at 8:30 a.m., was at the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway.

Nearby, an accident blocked the right lane on southbound Route 9 between Route 9A and Senasqua Road in Croton, with backups to Welcher Avenue.

An earlier accident resulted in the closure of the Taconic State Parkway at Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam.
