Man Stopped For Speeding On Route 100 Faces Weapons, DWI Charges

A New Rochelle man has been charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a weapon following a stop on Route 100 in Somers on Saturday, March 12.

State Police from the Somers barracks charged Davian K. Dennis, 31, with criminal possession of a weapon in the second Degree, a Class C felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped Dennis on Route 100 for speeding. Following an investigation conducted by the arresting officer, Dennis was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon when Troopers located a loaded Taurus .357 Magnum revolver in the vehicle. Dennis unlawfully possessed the firearm without a permit.

Dennis was arraigned by the Honorable Michael J. McDermott at the Town of Somers Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. The defendant was scheduled to reappear in the Town of Somers Court on Monday, March 14.
