Justin Veatch Fund to Showcase Young Talent Friday

YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Local teen artists who have appeared at First Fridays Open Mics hosted by the Justin Veatch Fund will have the opportunity to open for a headline artist.

This Friday, the Justin Veatch Fund will host Up Against the Wall, a concert held at Yorktown Stage. The concert will begin showing local artists, and then feature Pink Floyd Tribute band, Beyond the Wall, as well as Daisy Jopling, who will produce and perform in the event.

“The concert is part our vision to give local talent the opportunity to perform on a big stage setting and open for a headline act,” said Jeffrey Veatch, the fund's president. “We are also thrilled to have Peekskill artist Daisy Jopling produce the show as well as perform in it.”

The event, which starts at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16, will feature Jopling, who filled the Paramount Theater in Peekskill last March in a program that also featured other local artists and benefited Peekskill area youth music programs.

According to Veatch, Jopling has also played a major role in the fund’s second annual summer music workshop held last month in Pleasantville.

“The Justin Veatch Fund creates invaluable opportunities for these outstandingly talented teens,” Jopling said. “I am honored and excited to work with them on this performance.”

The Pink Floyd tribute band “Beyond the Wall” is from Danbury, Conn. and includes a special light show with its performances.

Updated details about the concert and ticket purchase information is available on the fund's website or by calling 914-772-1254.
