YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- Singers from the Yorktown Teen Center performed in front of an unusual backdrop last Friday, as they put on their First Friday Cafe Open Mic Night at Club Fit.
The First Friday Performers are continually searching for new locations to keep up their Friday tradition as their usual venue, the senior room at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, is being renovated and remodeled.
Open Mic will continue its "tour" around Yorktown and on Dec. 2 the teens will entertain at Town Hall.
The teens love to perform and the audience is so respectful and supportive of their peers. It has been exciting to see their performance skills improve," said Jeffrey Veatch of the Justin Veatch Fund, which helps host the Open Mic nights.
