Yorktown Teen Center, Solaris Host Night of Swooshes

YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- Saturday Night Swoosh was held in the Solaris gym Saturday night, hosting about 30 youth competing in shooting contests.

The event, hosted by the Yorktown Teen Center and Solaris Sports Club, held contests for the participants, such as the three-point and foul shot contests.

According to Teen Center Director Helena Rodriguez, the first place winner of the three-point contest was the lone female contestant, Amanda Geyer. Geyer, who is a seventh grader at Mahopac Middle School, took first place over Ryan Hill and Aiden Donnelly, sixth graders from Mildred E. Strang Middle Schoo,l who both secured second place in the middle school division.

In the high school division, Billy Arnold took first place, while Michael Monteruli took second. The winners of the foul shooting contest were Nick DeGennaro in first place, Ryan Hill in second place, and Jamison Embury in third place.
