Reception Welcomes Yorktown Woman As CEO Of Regional YMCA

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A reception to welcome Cynthia Rubino of Yorktown as the new chief executive officer and president of the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester was held last week at the White Plains YMCA.

Over 100 business and professional leaders in Westchester welcomed Rubino, who was previously the COO and vice president for Government Relations for Berkeley College.

Among those who attended the reception were Business Council of Westchester CEO Dr. Marsha Gordon, Business Council president Steve Jones, Anthony Justic, partner at Maier, Markey , Justic, LLP, Elizabeth Bracken-Thompson, principal of Thompson and Bender Media Relations as well as many government officials and community leaders.

Rubino outlined her plans for fundraising and future growth of the Y and also announced the appointment of community leader Anne Ring as The Y’s new Director of Fund Development and Communications.

The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester is a multi-faceted operation that is one of the largest providers of childcare services in the county with more than 500 children a day in afterschool programs serving seven school districts.

The Y branches provide day care, fitness and pool facilities, housing, summer camps, and fitness classes.

During the summer, Camp Combe in Putnam Valley services over 550 children and teens.
