The program is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Mahopac Public Library, 668 Route 6, Mahopac, according to a press release. The program is open to people living with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancers, according to the release.
"Reiki, an ancient holistic practice, promotes stress reduction, relaxation and wellbeing," representatives said in the release. "Reiki practitioners channel the 'universal life force,' an energy found within all things, to allow the body’s own natural ability to reduce stress and anxiety. Participants will learn about the history and uses of reiki, basic meditation and breathing techniques, and how to use reiki on their own."
Instructor Michelle Carter, owner of Westchester Putnam Reiki, has practiced reiki since 2006, according to the release.
