According to Lucille Munz, the farm’s director, “Hilltop Hanover Farm is open for business.” The U-Pick and Farm stand are open each weekend. The U-Pick It” fields are open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most recently you could be picking kale, collards, lettuce, arugula, and spinach.
The Farm Stand, which is still offering such organically grown vegetables as carrots, chard, acorn, broccoli, turnip, and sweet peppers, is open on Fridays from 1 to 6 and on Saturdays from 10 to 4. In addition, the Farm Stand is presently selling discounted pumpkins, apple crumb pies, mini and large pumpkin bread and cookies from Baked by Susan.
Bring two non-perishable items to the farm stand during November and December and receive a 10 percent discount off produce orders. The Farm Stand will be open the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving. At this time you can pick up pre-ordered turkeys from Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard. December continues to rock at Hilltop Hanover Farm. Weekend events, such as “Spin and Kit” classes on Dec. 7 and 2 continue. A “members only” “Carols, Cows, Cookies, and Cocoa “will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 2 to 4. To become a member, visit the farm stand, the farm office, or register on line at www.hilltophanoverfarm.org. Also, the “Annual Holiday Potluck” for all volunteers will be held on Friday, Dec. 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Volunteers are asked to bring an entrée, appetizer, or dessert -- the Farm staff will provide the beverages and entertainment.
