Yorktown High School To Hold Musical 'Meet Me In Saint Louis'

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. --  Yorktown High School students will be hosting a musical, "Meet Me in Saint Louis," on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m.

The family friendly musical is based on the classic American movie directed by Vincent Minelli starring Judy Garland.

The cast includes: Catherine O’Donnell in the Judy Garland role of Ester; Matt Ramirez as her Boy next Door; Shreya Desikan as Mother; Ryan Cohen as Father; Jenna Shulman as Lucinda Ballard; Liam McAuliffe as brother Lon; Gabriella Landicino as Rose; Dylan Horowitz as Warren Sheffield; Stephanie Venezia as Agnes; Scott Carney as eccentric Grandpa Prophater; Caitlin O’Connell as Katie the maid and Suzie Cole as Eve. Brook Side third grader Alexandra Puerto is featured as Tootie Smith, the role which made child actress Margaret O’Brien a top box-office star.

Participants in the ensemble include Emily Lubin, Shana Weiss, Gemma Small, Willow Leitner, Sarah Derby, Sydney Olney, Nolan Bunyaviroch, Michael Pancirer, Jesser Horowitz, Anthony Branca, Taylor Leaver, Nicholas Johanson, Jackson Warren and Sophie Labriola.

A large crew of students are set to work sound, lights, costumes, props and sets.

Under the direction of orchestra teacher Nancy Torrente and conductor Edward Reisert, high school students have the opportunity to perform in a professional pit band.

Bernard Monroe, a professional choreographer and director who has previously won two High School Helen Hayes awards for choreography, created the dances. Monroe has been working with students every day after school through a BOCES Arts in Education grant.

The tech crew is led by Tom Magerlein and Joe Menduni. It is overseen by teacher Dan Moore.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Tickets are $10 and are available at

Tickets for all performances will also be available at the door 30 minutes before each performance.
