Inaugural TyAthlon Welcomes Triathletes, Runners, Kids

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A full day of activities including a triathlon, 5k run/walk and children’s inflatable obstacle course will be part of the inaugural Mahopac TyAthlon on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The races support childhood cancer research and the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation. Ty, 5, died last year after battling brain cancer.

The triathlon begins at 7:30 a.m. The 5k begins at 10:30, and the obstacle course for children ages 2-15 starts at 12:30.

The 5k and triathlon begin at Lake Mahopac on Marina Drive. The obstacle course is at Mahopac Chamber Park.

All proceeds raised as a result of the Mahopac TyAthlon will benefit the TLC Foundation for childhood cancer research. The Ty Louis Campbell (TLC) Foundation is a certified nonprofit organization that funds innovative research and technology specifically geared toward the treatment of the deadliest childhood  cancers, including brain and spinal cord tumors.
