An upcoming feature film centering on the experiences of a draft evader who fled to Canada is set to feature a star-studded cast, including two familiar faces who hail from the Hudson Valley.

A police department in Westchester has announced the death of one of its former members who spent his life serving his community and country.
Dutchess County resident Andrew Fischer, Sr., a retired Eastchester Police sergeant, died on Tuesday, April 9 at the age of 84, according to his obituary.
Fischer, an Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War era, joined the department in 1964 and served until his retirement in 1987 after 23 years, according to Eastchester Police.

A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78.
Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary.
He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said.
Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Vietnam Veteran From Westchester Ralph Giordano Dies At 70
Westchester native Ralph J. Giordano, 70, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.
Ralph was born in Mount Vernon. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and had been an Operating Engineer for the City of New York prior to his retirement.
Ralph was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Friends of Jupiter Beach. His family also remembers him as one who loved animals.
