In order to help ensure trick-or-treaters' safety on Halloween night, more than 100 sex offenders in Westchester will be required to attend an educational program to keep them off the streets. The program, which will be mandatory for over 100 registered and non-registered sex offenders on probation in Westchester, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Westchester County Courthouse. Westchester County officials have put together a program to help keep sex offenders off the street during peak trick-or-treating hours. On Monday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., the county will require more than 80 registered and non-registered sex offenders on probation to attend a program at the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains. A 40-year-old man will spend nearly a decade in prison after being sentenced for assaulting, stabbing, and sexually abusing a woman in Westchester, the District Attorney announced. A Northern Westchester man will spend years behind bars after being caught on a nanny cam taking sexually explicit photos of a child and scarring a family, the DA announced. A former teacher in the area will spend time behind bars and register as a sex offender after admitting to rape and other charges involving a teenage student. White Plains resident John Fraioli, 35, pleaded guilty this week to criminal sexual act and rape after assaulting his child victim on more than one occasion last year, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced. A 41-year-old Northern Westchester man will spend more than a decade behind bars and register as a sex offender after he admitted to sexually abusing a girl under the age of 13. Parents in New York can make use of an online tool to ensure that neighborhoods are safe before their kids head out to trick-or-treat on Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31. For the first time, thousands of registered sex offenders and paroled pedophiles are now allowed to vote at school polling places— but only after 7 p.m., according to state officials.
