The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is preparing for a record-breaking 8.7 million travelers to use its airports and crossings during the Thanksgiving travel period, from Monday, Nov. 25, to Monday, Dec. 2.
Travelers should expect heavy traffic, longer wait times, and parking challenges, the agency announced on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Approximately 3.2 million passengers are expected to travel through John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, and New York Stewart International airports—an increase of 2% from last year’s record volume.

Fans of dishes cooked in wood-fired ovens and enjoyers of aged meats may want to visit an all-new restaurant housed in an over 140-year-old building in Westchester.
1881 Kitchen Table, located in Port Chester at 112 North Main St., will hold its grand opening on Thursday, July 18, the owners announced.
Located in the village's downtown area, the restaurant, which is now open, was constructed inside a building dating back to 1881 that once housed a library, a gentleman's room, a speakeasy, and Siegels and Hart Schaffner Marx clothing stores.

Park Somewhere Else: Limited Access To Public Playground In Westchester Until Further Notice
A popular playground in Westchester County will soon have limited access due to construction work.
On Monday, Oct. 24, the parking lot for Abendroth Park in Port Chester will begin to be paved, which could limit or completely block access, according to town officials.
Any visitors will have to park on surrounding streets until further notice in order to visit the park, which features a playground, pavilion area, dog park, and athletic field, officials said.
