Mount Vernon's JoAnna Hood, 65, Was Beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, And Friend JoAnna (Laporta) Hood, 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. JoAnna was born January 6, 1957, in Mt. Vernon to Joseph and Raffaelina Laporta. She never missed the opportunity to smile, dance, or sing; especially "Happy Birthday." Above all else she loved her children, her dog, and coffee... in that order. She was the most loving and loyal mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
