Stolen Car Police Chase On Hutch, I-95 Ends In Crash, Arrest
A stolen vehicle pursuit by Westchester County Police led to a crash at Playland Parkway and I-95 in Rye. The incident began around 9:06 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, when an alert by the Westchester County police Real Time Crime Center advised patrol units that a stolen Honda CRV was traveling southbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Man Reportedly Shot During New Rochelle Burglary
An alleged burglar was shot in the hand while attempting to rob a basement apartment in New Rochelle on Monday morning, police said. The New Rochelle Police Department received a report shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Monday, July 2, of a robbery at a Main Street apartment, and that one of the suspects involved had suffered a gunshot wound. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the 21-year-old tenant, along with three others, including one of the suspects, Darius Rogers, who was bleeding from his hand stemming from the gunshot wound. Yonkers Man Sentenced For Car Break-In, Armed Box Cutter Robbery
A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison after being found guilty of breaking into a car and attempting to stab the vehicle’s owner with a box cutter when he was confronted. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino announced that Yonkers resident Jerry Colon has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison stemming to a car break-in on South Broadway in December 2016.
