Off-Duty Firefighters Help Battle Blaze In Westchester A firefighter is never off duty. Five off-duty career firefighters were among those called to a Peekskill structure fire on Tuesday that left a residence with damage and temporarily displaced several residents. Firefighters in Peekskill were dispatched at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon to a reported structure fire near the intersection of North James Street and Howard Street.
