Hudson Valley Man Known As 'Hot Dog Guy' Dies At Age 80
For the past 18 years the "Hot Dog Guy," has stood on the side of a busy area roadway and waved to passing vehicles, bringing smiles to bypassers.
Sadly, those days have come to an end with the death of Dutchess County staple George Schwartz, the hot dog man's real name, on Friday, June 18 in Lagrangeville.
Schwartz, who was 80, always said he was a "regular guy" who sold hot dogs, his obituary said.
He worked on Route 55 until the end, only stopping when a short illness would not allow him to serve his customers any longer.

President Trump's younger brother, Robert Trump, died Saturday night in a Manhattan hospital. He was 71.
"It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight," the president said in a statement. "He was not just my brother, he was my best friend.
"He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace."

One brand-new baby boy got a special welcome from his big sisters and grandparents as he was born in the middle of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Because the girls and other family members could not be in the hospital, Gregg and Andrea Whitesell took their granddaughters, Addyson, 7, and Brooklyn, 3, of Hopewell Junction, to meet their new baby brother, Jack at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel on Sunday, April 26.
Knowing it would not be possible to go inside the hospital, they set up a beautiful parking lot surprise for the new parents James and Elaine Sheehy.

Westchester Native Ann Marie Beach Dies At 57
Ann Marie Beach, of Dutchess County, originally of Westchester, died Sunday, Aug. 11, at age 57.
Beach who lived in Stormville was born in White Plains on Feb. 10, 1962. She met "the love of her life" William "Bill" Beach while attending high school and shortly after graduating, they married on June 28, 1980, said the obituary.
They were married for 39 years and had two daughters, Tina Marie and Rose Mary.
Ann Marie Beach will be remembered most of all for the love and devotion she felt for her family and friends which included dogs, Cooper and Zoe, according to the obituary.
