A man driving a vehicle stolen from the NYPD on I-87 attempted to flee on foot after being involved in a one-car crash in Rockland County, New York State Police said. New York State Police troopers responded to a stretch of I-87 in Clarkstown, where there was a report of a rollover crash involving a stolen 1997 Toyota Avalon that had been taken by the NYPD. An alert has been issued by New York State Police investigators in the Hudson Valley who are attempting to locate a woman with multiple warrants out for her arrest. New York State Police in Hastings seek to locate Christina Daggett, who is wanted for endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. A 24-year-old man speeding on I-87 in Westchester attempted to take New York State Police on a brief chase after being busted with illegal fireworks during a traffic stop on I-87. New York State Police troopers stopped Long Island resident Jonathan Mata, of Great Neck, at approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, when he was clocked driving 93 mph in a posted 45 mph zone on I-87 in Tarrytown. Man Nabbed After Setting Stolen Vehicle On Fire In Westchester, Police Say
A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly setting fire to a stolen vehicle in a wooded area and was badly burned in the process. The incident took place in Westchester County when Yorktown Police received numerous 911 calls from residents on Baldwin Avenue reporting a vehicle on fire in the woods in Yorktown. A 32-year-old woman is wanted by New York State Police in the Hudson Valley after being busted with heroin and cocaine during a traffic stop, investigators said. Ivelisse Dickens is wanted by New York State Police in Montgomery and the Orange County Court following her arrest for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. A 32-year-old man was nabbed with large quantities of cocaine and marijuana as well as counterfeit prescription pills during a routine traffic stop.
