New York is well-represented in brand-new rankings of the best high schools in New York. The first four in Niche's 2025 selections are all from New York City: Stuyvesant in Manhattan, the Bronx High School of Science, Staten Island Technical High School, and Townsend Harris High School in Queens. This Westchester High School Ranks Among Top 20 Statewide, New Report Says
A high school in Westchester County is among the top 20 in New York, according to a new ranking from the school review site Niche. Scarsdale Senior High School, in the Scarsdale Union Free School District, was ranked No. 13 out of 1,255 public high schools in the state with an overall grade of A+. It was also ranked No. 1 in best public high schools in Westchester County. Westchester County is well represented in the brand-new 2021 U.S. News & World Report rankings of the best high schools in the nation. The criteria in ranking the more than 17,000 focused on six factors: College readiness, Reading and math proficiency, Reading and math performance, Underserved student performance, College curriculum breadth, Graduation rates. It is with deep sadness that we report the death of Kenneth Mitchell Allen on April 14, 2020, a victim of COVID-19. Ken was born May 25, 1936 in the Bronx, the son of Nathan and Jeanette (Fisherman) Allen. He graduated from Morris High School and then entered the army. He served in Germany during the Korean war from 1954 to 1956 as a radio operator. He first planned on making it his career but quickly realized that it was not the career for him. Fear and panic spread across the country on Thursday, as a bomb threat asking for thousands of dollars in bitcoin payment made the rounds through a series of emails.
