Fourth- and fifth-grade students and their teachers take part in the Neighborhood Bridges program, which blends theater arts with to ignite a student’s creativity and connect passion to paper.
The 10-week Neighborhood Bridges workshop is a literacy program that uses storytelling and creative drama to help children develop their literacy skills. It is designed to enhance a student’s narrative and descriptive writing.
Last year's fifth-graders and the teachers came to observe its work, and this year the program has expanded to fourth-graders as well allowing more than 120 students to participate.
The workshop series was made possible by a grant from the Frog Rock Foundation.
