Yonkers Cancels School For Monday Because Of Hurricane

YONKERS, N.Y – The Yonkers Public School District has canceled school for Monday in light of Hurricane Sandy's projected path.

The district issued the emergency closing Sunday but said the central office will remain open.

According to the latest projections, Hurricane Sandy is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall into New York late Sunday or early Monday, with the bulk of the storm slamming the region early Tuesday.
