Most Yonkers Schools To Reopen Monday

YONKERS, N.Y. – Most schools in Yonkers will open Monday, city officials said Saturday.

Students will make up lost days Tuesday with a full day of instruction.

Five schools do not have power and will not open until power is restored: Casimir Pulaski School, Family School 32, Paideia School 15, Scholastic Academy and School 21.

City officials said Con Edison had made those schools a priority for power restoration and would work through the weekend to get power back.

School officials canceled the SAT exam scheduled for Saturday at Roosevelt High School and said students would be able to transfer their registration to another exam date at no charge.
