Yonkers Council Candidates Run In Tuesday's Primary Elections

YONKERS, N.Y. – Yonkers residents voting in Tuesday’s primary elections will see contested races for seats on the City Council, and for council president.

Polls in Yonkers for the primary election open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.

Corazon Pineda and incumbent Wilson Terrero are seeking the Democratic Party nod for the District 2 seat on the City Council. Terrero is also running for the District 2 seat on the Independence ticket.  Independent voters also have the opportunity to write-in a candidate.

Grace Borrani is seeking the position of council president on the Conservative ballot.  Conservative voters can also write in a candidate.  Ivy Reeves and Michael Rotanelli will battle for the council president spot on the Democratic ticket.

The primary election will be held Sept. 10.

Polls for the primary election open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.  Check the Westchester Board of Elections website for information about polling locations.

This year’s general election will be held Nov. 5.
