Grace Borrani will make a formal announcement of her intention to run Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Riverview Club Condominium on Warburton Avenue.
Borrani, a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, is the owner of Borrani Reality Corporation. The family business on Vredenburgh Avenue serves parts of Westchester, Putnam and the Bronx.
Borrani is also the founder of Women of the Westchester Business Connection and the Westchester Business Connection, a pair of local professional networking groups.
If elected, it would be Borrani’s first seat in public office. A registered Republican, Borrani is seeking the endorsement of the Conservative and Independence parties.
The City Council President seat will be open at the end of this year as current president Chuck Lesnick is prevented from seeking re-election by the city’s term limits.
Borrani joins a list of potential contenders for the fall election, including Park Avenue Elevator Design owner and Democrat Frank Spotorno, Democratic candidate Mike Rotanelli and former city councilman, Republican Liam McLaughlin.
