Yonkers Teen, 17, Charged In Fatal Stabbing

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with second-degree murder on Saturday in connection to a fatal stabbing outside of an apartment complex on Friday.

Investigation to date has revealed that the suspect was engaged in a physical dispute Donald Fields, 46, and stubbed the victim 18 times including 6 times in the chest outside of the Dorado Apartments. Fields was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead from his injuries.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fields family at this time," Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said in a statement. "Our detectives did an excellent job in quickly identifying and charging the suspect responsible for this senseless crime.”
