Police said they responded to a call for help Saturday, Jan. 23, from someone at an apartment on South Broadway.
They found the unconscious and barely breathing man and revived him by administering two doses of the life-saving drug.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was expected to recover, police said.
Police said the Yonkers emergency service unit was the first agency in Westchester to successfully use the “Narcan kit.” In 2014, officers saved the life of a 28-year-old woman just hours after the kits were deployed.
All members of the Yonkers Police Department Emergency Service Unit are trained as state emergency medical technicians, the department said.
