Yonkers Police Continue Investigation Into Shooting

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Suspects are being sought in the recent shootings of two Yonkers residents near Van Cortlandt Park, police said.

Patrolling officers, hearing gunshots on Monday, around 6:40 p.m, raced to 31 Lawrence St. where they found the first victim, a 31-year-old man, who had been shot in his buttocks.

Shortly afterwards, they also came to the aid of a 27-year-old man who had suffered a stomach wound.

Both men were taken to a trauma center where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victims told police that they were hanging out with a group of people on the street when shots rang out.

Police are searching for any videos that might help their investigation.
