On Friday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Eryc Hairston, 26, was found guilty on a second-degree murder charge for his role in the shooting last summer that left a Kennedy Gonzalez dead.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on July 8 last year, Hairston open fired at his victim on Waverly Street in Yonkers, striking him twice and killing him. The Yonkers Police Department launched an extensive investigation, and he was arrested in New York City two weeks later.
Hairston is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, Aug. 30. He faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
