YONKERS, N.Y. Police are investigating the mysterious death of a 28-year-old female who was found dead in her idling car Wednesday morning in Yonkers.
City police found the woman, identified Thursday as Jayna Montero, of Yonkers, behind the wheel of her locked car, parked near DeHaven Drive and Bolmer Avenue, after responding to a 911 call around 8:57 a.m.
Shortly after, police swarmed the quiet suburban street, blocking the road with yellow crime scene tape.
By noon, the woman had been taken to the Westchester County Medical Examiners office and the car, reported to be a light blue sedan, had been removed from the street.
Yonkers Police Spokesman Det. Lt. Patrick McCormack said the cause of death remains unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
