Police Rescue Suicidal Yonkers Girl, 17, At GWB

Port Authority police said they intercepted a suicidal 17-year-old girl from Yonkers at the George Washington Bridge before she could jump Monday night.

The 911 call that sent the officers there came in must after 9 p.m., the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said Tuesday morning.

They found the girl on the south walk at the New York tower and she was taken without incident to Holy Name Medical Center for observation.
